Nintendo 3DS and Wii U eShops to close late March 2023

The end of an era is dawning us. The Nintendo eShops for both the Nintendo 3DS and the Wii U will close their doors in late March 2023. If there's any eShop exclusives, Virtual Console games et al you want for both these consoles, you have a bit over a year to do so. Don't be surprised if price hikes happen to physical 3DS and Wii U games in the near future following these inevitable eShop closures.

P.S.: Pokémon Bank will become free to use after the 3DS and Wii U eShops close their doors. Make sure you download Pokémon Bank on any of your 3DS consoles before these eShops close.

So, QUICK! Don't sit there wasting your precious time! Whatever you haven't bought on the eShop yet, GET IT! DO IT RIGHT AWAY! DO IT WHILE YOU CAN! IT'S THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN LIVE A LIFE OF NO REGRETS!

Late response, but I noticed that Capcom and various indie devs/publishers (I.E.: Wayforward, Atooi, Circle Entertaiment, Yacht Club Games among several others) have put their games on sale on both the 3DS and Wii U eShops this past week as a last chance type deal. I hope that Sega, Atlus, NIS, Inti Creates and several others also hop in the last ditch 3DS and Wii U eShop sales bandwagon as well but I have my doubts at this point of time.

You have until March 27th of 2023 to snag anything from the 3DS and Wii U eShops (and paid themes from the 3DS Theme Shop) before they close. This goes double for DLC to any games you own on those two consoles.

P.S.: To no one's surprise, prices for physical pre-owned 3DS and Wii U games (mainly anything not already on the Switch for the latter) are starting to fluctuate left and right. I just hope it doesn't become as costly overall as Nintendo GameCube or even Sega Saturn game collecting.

Remember what I said about Atlus and NIS jumping in on the last chance sales bandwagon? They just did in Europe and Australia, I don't know if it'll carry over to North America. Here's the stuff that our friends from Europe and Australia have on sale at the 3DS eShops there:

North American owners are treated to a final sale of Gurumin 3D: A Monstrous Adventure before the imminent closure. You may want to snag this just in case if Gurumin doesn't come to the Switch in any form. The game also has a free theme bundle on the 3DS Theme Shop as well, it's under Game-Specific Themes (and not under the Free to Download section oddly enough) if you're looking for it.

As a side note, you may want to snag Flipnote Studio 3D, My Nintendo Picross: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and all 6 of the exclusive My Nintendo themes on the MyNintendo Rewards shop before the 3DS/Wii U eShop closure otherwise you'll be unable to redeem them. This is your last call for that.

If you have any unused download codes for 3DS and/or Wii U games, 3DS menu themes et al that you haven't used up yet, now's the time to do so. I had download codes for two Mega Man 3DS menu themes that I've had from the Mega Man Legacy Collection Collectors Edition that were left unused until now.
