Important! Due to romhacking.net shutting down, future releases of Wario Land 3 Master Quest will mostly be limited to Nintendo 3DS Central, and occasionally Gaming Latest, and Wario Forums!

Word of warning: Play this game in English! If you play this in Japanese, it will crash when you go to The Temple after getting the 5th Music Box, and you WILL NOT be able to win the game!

I am now giving out prizes!
1,000,000,000.00 points to the first member to complete the game (all 100 treasures & 8 musical coins in all levels, with proof) with fewer than 169 restarts plus 1.00 for every death less than 169! The prize has been claimed by SoapAgent!
100,000.00 to any member who completes the game for the first time regardless of restarts!

I am considering removing the hack from romhacking.net, and making it a Nintendo 3DS Central and Wario Forums exclusive... I really never ment for the hack to be a widespread release, so I am thinking about removing it there… I take that back! Support will be mainly focused here and on Wario Forums!

Wario Land 3 The Master Quest is getting updated! W3's underwater rapids maze is being changed a bit so not every wrong route leads to Skull Tiles! I also am moving the Green Key back to it's original position (not exactly) from when the hack wasn't the Master Quest yet! Still, a few parts still sweep you into Skull Tiles, but not all! Also, for the sake of Speedrunning, Pool of Rain's first version (before the vines grow) of the Green area WILL not be updated with the underwater maze! It will stay the same! Expect this in Update #008! This should also reduce difficulty by only a little!

I just for a moment thought of making a "Special Tiger Edition" of Wario Land 3 The Master Quest, but quickly decided against it for 5 reasons:

1. It would be too hard; Wario has TOO many frames that are larger than 16x16 pixels (Which are how large Tiger is)! It would take far too long to copy and paste each and every sprite from other hacks that use Tiger as the playable character (Plus I'd have to draw some new ones too, though it can speed up the process by using existing ones!)!

2. It would be tough trying to get the many of the reactions to work with Tiger as he is a Faerie who specializes in Fire & Ice powers in which he cannot be burned or frozen, and can fly, so many of the reactions wouldn't flow well except those where he uses fire and ice powers or flies

3. Tiger filling the role of a greedy treasure hunting bureaucrat would be out of character for him! Tiger has a pure heart which can know no hatred, malice, or evil, something Wario clearly does not possess!

4. The story wouldn't work: There is a psudo-Tiger (Hey, hackers need cameos in their games!) at the end who is trapped in Rudy's diabolical (and sealed) body, and Wario has to save him! I would have to re-write the script to work! And who's going to be in Rudy's body? WARIO!? Which brings me to my final (And most important) reason:

5. There are just SOME THINGS you JUST CANNOT DO, and removing Wario from a Wario Land game is one of them! I have ABSOLUTELY no problem removing Mario from a Mario game, or Link from a Zelda game, but Wario from a WARIO GAME!? No way! Wario and @CM30 would not be having ANY OF THAT!!!

It's FINALLY here! This is what may possibly be, THE FINAL major release of Wario Land 3 The Master Quest! Master Questies and Runners, I present to you, Release #010! I plan to make no more major changes to the hack EXCEPT to fix level glitches, or to update the Hall of Fame at the end of the credits!

I know I said that Wario Land 3 Master Quest was finished and would no longer be developed on a regular basis except to update the Hall of Fame or fix bugs, and I made a mistake in the level design in E4 The Colossal Hole, so I needed to release a fix, so... Release #011 is out! Yaaaaaaay... Now can I be done? Will all of you try and complete it now? WILL SOMEBODY BEAT MY RECORD OF 169 RESTARTS!?

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I lied when I said Release #010 was the final release! The REALLY final release is now! So as a New Year's treat, behold! Release #012! Someone special will make a cameo appearance (Which ended up shifting a few treasures around, but that shouldn't be a problem for runners!)!

All right, so many people weren't very happy when I made the S6 Moon Wrong Warp meaningless, you know, major sequence break, got rid of the key so everyone has to get to the moon MY intended way... All Wario Land 3 Master Quest Speedruns and Death counts WILL be verified, approved and managed by Nintendo 3DS Central, and the Discord server! All speedrunning leaderboards that are not associated with Nintendo 3DS Central or the Discord server will be considered unofficial, and until they are submitted on Nintendo 3DS Central or the Discord server and verified by yours truly will be declared "INVALID", and will not be eligible for in-game credits inclusion! Video proof must be provided for validation, and any% speedruns will not be honored as "OFFICIAL" and will not be eligible for in-game credits inclusion! The will be recognized as submitted records, and will appear in this thread, and on Discord! They must ALSO be done on the CURRENT Release! Speedruns done on releases older that the one found in thread will be declared "INVALID"!

The Big Bridge's Green Treasure will now require the "Super Ground Pound" to obtain, and The Peaceful Village's Green Treasure will now require the "High Jump" to obtain! These two changes will make it so you won't have to enter these two levels a fifth time solely to get all 8 musical coins-- they will all be obtainable the moment the final treasure for these levels become available as the musical coins required the said power up to obtain, which at that point, all 4 treasures would have been obtained already! This update has no plans for release (to maintain compatibility with RetroAchievements), but I'm just throwing it out there! All levels now give you the opportunity to get all 8 musical coins and a treasure at the same time! (And the Big Bridge's change is a particularly good one: YOU WILL ONLY HAVE TO DO THE DREADED PINHEAD LADDER SECTION ONLY ONCE!!!! HALLELUJAH!!!!!)

Emergency update! Release #016 was slightly bugged: One specific room on the 4th daytime stage of The Big Bridge has the scroll type incorrectly set, this did not happen in the nighttime version!

Release #018 is currently being tested! This is a HUMONGOUS update!
Several levels have had brand new areas add to them, and a surprise for the ending cutscene! You'll never guess who it is! (Though it is a work in progress, and several of the animations are unfinished, so you'll just have to deal with that! I'm sorry if it looks weird and crude!)

There WERE some screenshots of some of the new areas, but due to the Nintendo 3DS Central discord server being (RIGHTFULLY) shut down, they are forever lost in cyber oblivion!

Release #018 will be the FINAL release to be released outside of Nintendo 3DS Central or Gaming Latest! Release #019 onward will be Nintendo 3DS Central & Gaming Latest exclusives! I decided this because Release #018 will be such a humongous update, and it wouldn't be fair to others who have interest in my hack, and to the speedrunning community who would be interested in running the hack to sign in to Nintendo 3DS Central to download it, especially with all the brand new areas that the upcoming release will feature!

I changed my mind! My mind is a VERY fickle one, it is!
