Digital Combat Simulation Story Campaigns
Started playing Serpent's Head 2, one of many DCS F/A - 18 Hornet Story Campaigns, in this campaign I am playing as an experienced F/A - 18 Combat Pilot callsign "Ford" stationed on the USS John C Stennis.
Recorded main the part of The first mission minus the carrier catapult take off and landing, started as a boring mission, doing an airshow for the Georgian Public but then during the airshow suddenly out of nowhere 2 unknown fighters appeared (at 07:26 ), bombed the Crowd that was watching the airshow along with a couple of planes parked at the airport. Since it's for an airshow my fighter was equipped with only guns and zero missiles, I quickly switched my fighter into Air To Air Dogfight Mode, with Radar into VACQ (vertical acquisition mode), guns selected and armed , engaged the 2 fighters in a dogfight with guns. Damaged the first one and the other one tried to take a shot from my six, taking advantage of F/A - 18 Hornet's excellent slow speed turning capability, I quickly pulled a 5-g turn followed by a quick split - s and managed to bring the bandit from my six to my 12 o'clock gun sight, fired a couple of short burst of rounds from my guns and managed to shoot it down, then I hit full throttle and shot down the first bandit that was damaged before, splashed 2! Started boring but ended up being a good beginning event of a new conflict in Georgia. Wonder what will happen next...

Flew Mission 3 of Serpent's Head 2 campaign. A CAP (Combat Air Patrol) and CAS (Close Air Support) mission, helping the Brits and local ground troops fighting the insurgents. Pretty fun mission, got spiked by pesky SAMs (Surface To Air Missile) Launchers at 16:29 , took them out with AGM-88 HARM missiles, did not give them the chance to launch SAM missiles at me. Took out 2 insurgent Heavy Armored Vehicles with Maverick IR missiles, did some Air to Air refueling, took out an insurgent ammo safe house with an Mk unguided free fall bomb and shot down a Mig-23 with an Aim 9 Sidewinder missile then landed back on the supercarrier. recorded it:

Re: Digital Combat Simulation Story Campaigns
Flew Mission 5 of the Serpent's Head 2 campaign. A pretty engaging strike mission with some tense dogfight. recorded in multiple parts:
Launched during a bad windy weather with heavy Rain though above 9000 Feet the weather was really nice lol:
At 4:13 Got attacked by Insurgent Fighters enroute, 4 Mig 23s. Trident went ahead to fire a couple of AMRAAM missiles at them (unlike my fighter, Trident was not carrying heavy air to ground missiles so he could fly faster and turn much tighter than me) , then I followed suit fired the first AMRAAM then went left, beamed the missile fired at me by one of the Migs while dropping Chaffs at regular intervals, The Migs didn't have a solid enough lock on me with them having to dodge AMRAAMs from Trident and me so took a gamble and turned hard right to fire a second AMRAAM missile at another Mig and beamed the second missile fired at me. Trident hard splashed the third Mig. 3 Migs down. I checked my six, making sure it's clear then I engaged the last one with Trident from 2 different angles, I continued to maneuver my fighter and waited until I managed to get a really solid lock before firing my close range, infra-red air to air missile, AIM-9 Sidewinder, splashed the last bandit! Trident got hit by one of the enemy's missile so he had to RTB while I continued on with the strike mission, climbed to 32000 Feet and fired 3 realy long range AGM-154 Joint Standoff Weapon (JSOW) air to ground missiles at the targets, I maintained a safe distance from enemy SAMs' range, entered the coordinates of the last target and fired the 4th JSOW at the last target, all targets destroyed:
The Supercarrier landing was quite difficult because of the very windy weather, heavy rain and turbulence, had to trim and increase/reduce my fighter's thrusters a lot to keep my fighter inside the landing glide slope and to keep it onspeed. Managed to get a good landing score despite all that, one of my best supercarrier landings lol I am quite satisfied with the landing:

Re: Digital Combat Simulation Story Campaigns
Annnd DCS F/A -18 Hornet is getting major updates yay! hyped!
Radar Update. In parallel with refactoring the Flight Model and FCS, a refactoring of the Hornet radar is well underway. Key elements to address are improving the look-down, PRF, scan azimuth and more in order to offer improved detection and target tracking simulation.
GPS Weapon Lofting. An important weapon delivery option for JDAM and JSOW weapons is the ability to loft for extended range. There are several HUD and HSI changes that we plan to make this year to enable this enhanced delivery profile.
New Pilot Model. Whilst the Hornet already features a cockpit-view pilot model, we are creating a much improved and more realistic model with corrected kit elements, and have more life-like animations.
New Fuzes. Currently, the Hornet bombs only have contact detonation fuzes like the M904 and M905. In 2023 we will be working on new fuzes such as the DSU-33 airburst fuze and the FMU-152 Joint Programmable Fuze (JPF). Unlike other fuzes that must be programmed while the aircraft is on the ground, the JPF allows fuze programming while airborne.
In addition to the cockpit functionality to support these fuzes, changes will also need to be made to the Mission Editor, visual effects, and weapon damage effects to include them.

Flew Mission 6 of The Rise Of The Persian Lion PI Story Campaign, in my F/A - 18c Hornet. It's almost the same like what happened recently with Iran and Israel, Container ship seized by Iran's Revolutionary Guard stuff, with Strict ROE (Rules Of Engagement) Recorded the mission.
Supercarrier Catapult Launch:
Helped a Cargo ship that's being attacked by Iranian Helos with Troops, they tried to board the cargo ship. Dived in fast and splashed the Helos with my Aim 9x Sidewinder Missiles At 7:30. Then The Iranians launched 4 F-4 Fighters, Engaged and splashed the Fighters with my Wingman At 11:04. Shot one with my Aim 120c Medium Range BVR Missile, then engaged another one and I fired one Aim 9x Sidewinder Infra Red missile, the bandit countered with 1 infra red Air to Air Missile too had to jink while releasing flares to dodge it, managed to dodge it and the bandit dodged my Aim 9 Missile too then I managed to fire another Aim 9x and this time splashed the bandit. Wingman also splashed 2 bandits but his fighter took some hits and got damaged and thus had to land at Khasab. Flew on his wing during the approach and landing at Khasab.
Then did some air-to air refueling, pretty bumpy during the first air to air connection had to pull back to pre-contact position and did another air to air refueling contact, this time the turbulence was not as heavy as before:
then did a CASE III Foggy Supercarrier landing:

Re: Digital Combat Simulation Story Campaigns
DCS PC. Flew Mission 7 of The Rise Of The Persian Lion Story Campaign in mt F/A- 18c Hornet. A Night time strike mission. Recorded it.
Nighttime Supercarrier Catapult Launch:
Enroute to the Convoy target area, The Insurgents attacked Sohar Harbor. Command ordered my wingman to break and attack and the destroy the insurgent cruiser at Sohar harbor and I continued on with the mission:
Searched the Convoy with my FLIR, found and targeted it. got a lock and launched my AGM-65 Maverick Air To Ground missile, but the missile missed the target had to do another run and this time destroyed the convoy, then Received an order from Command to destroy one of The Insurgent's safe houses. The local police surrounded the Safe House Area thus had to be really careful when dropping my JDAM bomb, "danger close" lol. Took out the safehouse with a JDAM.
Then did a Nighttime Case III Supercarrier Landing, there was a sudden turbulence when I was about to touch down my fighter, good thing I managed to pull my flight stick up in time to prevent hitting the deck too hard and damage my baby Hornet's gear lol:

Re: Digital Combat Simulation Story Campaigns
DCS, PC, Flew Mission 10 Of Rise Of The Persian Lion story campaign in my F/A - 18c Hornet with my new Wingman.
A rescue Op. Lt "Cutlass" was shot down by a SAM (Surface to Air Missile) during his CAP Mission, He ejected and managed to avoid capture, the enemy were actively looking for him. And thus the rescue Op. Recorded the mission.
Supercarrier Cat 2 Catapult Launch:
Enroute to holding orbit point to wait for "Dodge" F/A - 18 Hornet Squad to take out the SAMs in the area. Contacted "Cutlass" at 10:45 and he said he managed to hijack a Bus and and was hiding in a house near one of the main intersections with Tangos on him:
With the SAMs destroyed it's go time. Pretty tough because ROE was strict and collateral damage must be kept to a minimum and we weren't allowed to use any Air to Ground missile and thus a surgical strike using guns. It's pretty windy too and thus had to take into account the wind force and direction too when firing my Hornet's guns to take out the Tangos. and the Tangos had MANPADS too, had to jink hard while diving down and dropped quite a lot of Flares to dodge the MANPAD missiles. Took out 3 moving vehicles that were chasing "Cutlass" and more. With the area cleared we could call in the rescue chopper. Then the enemy launched 3 Mig 21s, had to take them out. Since we were not carrying any Medium range AMRAAM missiles but only close Range AIM 9x Sidewinder missiles had to go in close to take them out, no BVR Combat. Took out 2 and Wingman took out 1. The mission was a success:

Re: Digital Combat Simulation Story Campaigns
Read new update/progress on DCS' New Dynamic Campaign System, nice! :
The DCS Dynamic Campaign (DCSDC) has been a massive undertaking, but we are making steady progress in both the strategic and tactical elements. Here is an outline of our development tasks.
Work continues to configure ground AI forces command and control. There are three main systems: The border and frontline system, navigation based on terrain and surface-type, and a multi-level formation system. These are combined into one code for the final fine-tuning of ground combat. The decision-making system for ground force objectives is being tested and refined as a function of force size, unit locations, and the general objectives of the coalitions.
To improve ground forces movement calculations, a mechanism was created for the DCSDC engine that optimally analyses routes between points, whilst taking into consideration roads, terrain, and potential travel speeds across different types of surfaces. A navigation mesh editor is also being developed to allow campaign creators to modify old terrains to suit their needs. We believe these components can be applied not only within Dynamic Campaigns, but also for non-dynamic DCS missions and campaigns.
Testing of the integrated air force ‘command and control’ of DCSDC into DCS continues This includes both the creation and functioning of the missions and optimization of different mission task flight profiles. Looking ahead, there will be tests made for all components of the strategic AI troop control and player participation.
Testing of Dynamic Campaigns has resulted in a new tracking system that allows a detailed accounting of actions and behaviours. This is critical to the debugging process of such a complex task. The current DCS track file system has also been expanded with the ability to store RTS layer information. The resulting systems will allow you to review campaign events and provide a DCSDC active save system. This active save system will allow you to resume saved games and rewind time to replay an unsuccessful episode of a campaign.

The current DCS track file system has also been expanded with the ability to store RTS layer information. The resulting systems will allow you to review campaign events and provide a DCSDC active save system. This active save system will allow you to resume saved games and rewind time to replay an unsuccessful episode of a campaign.

Re: Digital Combat Simulation Story Campaigns
Flew Mission 12 of the Rise Of The Persian Lion Story Campaign in my F/A - 18 Hornet baby lol.
A Deep strike Mission, taking down the enemy's Nuclear Power Plant and SA-6 SAM Air Defense. Me and my Wingman Flew low to the target area to avoid SAM's fire, however by flying low me and my Wingman were in the range of the enemy's AAA fire and thus had to do some serious "zig-zag" flying dodging the many AAA fire from the ground. Targeted the target with my FLIR and assigned the target's coordinates to my JDAM, Too Mode, and fired 2 JDAMS at the target while maintaining the "zig-zag" flying, pretty hard targeting the ground target while doing this "zig-zag" flying. Destroyed the target and quickly went high to take out the SA-6 SAM at waypoint 8 with my AGM-88 HARM Missiles, Too Mode. Managed to Take out the SA-6 then quickly went low (did a split-S maneuver while diving down to quickly turn my heading by 180 degrees) to egress point. Then did a case 1 Carrier landing. Missed the wires during the first touch down had to do another touch down, got a good second touch down landing score. Mission was a success. Recorded the mission:
Cat 2 Super Carrier Launch, USS Abraham Lincoln :
Started the "zig-zag" flying pattern at 3:38 to dodge the enemy's heavy AAA fire, then destroyed the first and then the second target:

Re: Digital Combat Simulation Story Campaigns
New DCS Story Campaign coming, Operation Arctic Thunder: Valhalla. Niiice!
Arctic Thunder will consist of two campaigns: one for a Finnish Air Force Hornet and another one for an USAF Viper. Both will share the same storyline and some of the missions, so it will be possible to play them from different perspectives.
