As a guy who owns every core series game there ever was, I could not possibly say what my favorites were... I really liked the 4th, 3rd, 2nd, and 6th generation games, but I would probably have to go with the 4th generation or the 6th generation! The 2nd and 3rd generation had amazing soundtracks, but just can't tell you!

Asides the Gen I games (Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow), here's some of my fave Pokémon games:

Gen II (Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal)
Gen III Orre continuity games (Pokémon Colosseum and Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness)
Gen IV (Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum)
Gen II remakes (Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver)
Gen VI (Pokémon X and Y)
Gen VII upgrades (Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon)
Pokémon Legends: Arceus

NOTE: I don't have Black 2 and White 2, and Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee sadly. I have all the other mainline games though.
