I think it could have been Super Mario Land or Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, on Game Boy/Color respectively!

Most likely the original Super Mario Bros. on the original NES via the Super Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt 2-in-1.

Mine was SMB on NES as well, just the game by itself. Still a great play to this day.

Super Mario Bros. Deluxe. Pretty fun but the challenges? Brutal.
